Google Voice is funnier than Daniel Tosh

20 Oct

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Google Voice, it is a nifty service that transcribes your voicemails into texts. It’s usually really convenient. However, it is not terribly accurate in its transcription if the caller has any kind of accent other than a clear, Midwestern accent.

Below is the transcription of a phone call from my 78 year-old grandmother from Kentucky who has smoked for the last 55 years: Leonardo This is your walking Graham up. Hello. We’re, Baghdad, what’s going on, bye.

Yes, so I shall now only be called Leonardo and I have some connection to a fallen Iraqi city. A slight bit of irony in that, don’t you think?
