You might not know

13 May

that aside from being a professional bitch, I also have a conscience. Yep, I really do. I run a non-profit for veterans with legal issues connected to their service. It’s called Barristers for the BraveThis was started on behalf of my amazing husband. He is one of the tens of thousands of young combat veterans returning home with PTSD and TBI (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury).  These afflictions alter personalities and are general hell for the veteran and for those who love him/her.

Barristers aims to provide funds for legal counsel when these injuries result in brushes with the law. We also want to educate our police and local EMS about how to handle a patient with PTSD/TBI.  Flashbacks happen and our 911 is clueless as to how help, instead they just hide in bushes and exacerbate problems.

This summer I hope to host a series of fundraisers for this amazing cause.  I need volunteers and I need donations and I need people to click the link above and like us on Facebook. We need to make people aware that our vets are being treating beyond unfairly by a legal system that does not understand or accommodate them.

Help your community by helping a veteran.

You rock and you aren’t a bitch! You are refreshingly honest, forthcoming and to the point. In these times, everyone gets caught up in the bs we forget what honesty is. I love ya and will help spread the word. Love ya 🙂
